Eames Century Modern Type Specimen
As a lover of all things Eames, when I was given the assignment of creating a type specimen book for a typeface of my choice, I immediately knew Eames Century Modern from House Industries would fit the bill. I approached the book by first doing extensive research on actual Eames designs, era appropriate packaging and mid-century history.

Linen paper, Hemp thread, Light Chipboard were chosen for their functionality and durability.

To really shine a light on the versatility of Eames Century Modern, all text, illustrations, and decorative frames throughout the book were composed entirely from the typeface itself.

Then as a nod to the Japanese influences on Eames designs, I used a Japanese stitch binding technique to bind the book.

Orange was chosen as the only color throughout the book to help set a vibrant mid-century modern tone.
